Aims and Objectives

(1) The objective of the Council is to safeguard the interests of the citizens of Gurgaon and to ensure that the city of Gurgaon develops in a planned manner, and adhering to a time-bound schedule in line with the assurances given by the government of Haryana and other government and semi-government agencies, and private colonizers and builders, from time to time right from its inception in its modern incarnation in the 1970s and 1980s.

(2)To bring residents welfare association (RWAs) apartment associations mercantile associations of commercial complexes and citizens of Gurgaon under a common umbrella, and to pursue all matters relating to civic amenities in Gurgaon Such as (i) electricity (ii) water (iii) transport (iv) roads (v) traffic (vi) law and order (vii) health (viii) sewage and sanitation (ix) taxis and levies (x) urban development policy (xi) development of villages and EWS policy (xii) education (xiii) postal service and communications (xiv) sports and youth welfare (xv) culture (xvi) entertainment (xvii) environment, and in all respect of all other facilities which the people of Gurgaon are entitled to enjoy as citizens of India and residents of Gurgaon.

(3) To extend co-operation to government and semi-government agencies, private colonizers and builders, and other organizations, for promoting the aims and objects of the Council

(4) The income and property of the Council shall be applied solely towards the promotion of the objects of the Council set forth in the Memorandum of Association, and no portion thereof shall be paid or transferred directly or indirectly to the members of the council.

(5) The Council by its constitution is required to apply its profits, if any, or other income in promoting its aims and objects.

(7)If upon the winding up or dissolution of the Council, there remains after satisfaction of all its debts and liabilities, any property whatsoever, the same shall not be paid to or distributed among the members of the Council, but shall be given or transferred to some other institution having objects similar to the objects of the Council, to be determined by its members, at or before the time of dissolution.
